Hello

Although I was born in England, I spent most of my childhood in Libya and Kuwait where my dad worked as a civil engineer.  Every part of Kuwait was under construction when we were there and I think this explains my love of building sites, big and small.  As a graduate architect I struggled to identify with the glamour of the 'star-chitect' and I chose to work in the booming cities of Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur through the early 90s.  

On my return to London I tried my hand at a new career in Film and TV.  I continued to work with large architecture firms in between training and filming as a Stand-by Art Director and you can get more of an insight into this in my what are you talking about blog post.

In the end, I was drawn back to architecture and the beautiful city of my undergraduate years, Cambridge.  I worked for a local firm for nearly 10 years before setting up on my own.

I offer a highly personalized service to clients who have mostly never worked with architects before and mostly never undertaken significant building projects. I begin with establishing a brief and work with the clients through to design, permissions, pricing and the construction period itself.  This blog is a summary of the kind of advice I give along the way as well as some extra stuff that there isn't always time for.
